This month, I had the honor of standing beside one of my longest and dearest friends, Michelle Munoz, to raise awareness for breast cancer. Michelle and I go way back—we played college softball together, shared years of friendship, and now, we get to celebrate her life and her fight as a survivor.
Being there with her this October for the Sisters Combat Cancer Walk in Corona, California, meant everything. To walk with Michelle, and her amazing family (huge Amor Salsita fans) and so many amazing people and small businesses—it’s a reminder of what community really is. Every participant, every business that showed up to raise awareness, celebrate a life, and honor someone.
Moments like this are another reason why I love what we do. Amor Salsita is salsa, family, community and a bigger picture. Supporting Michelle and standing with our community is one of the things I’m most proud of as a small business owner. Thank you to all the business who came in. Shot out to all the lieutenant sponsors. We see you! Being part of the Southern California community we also love to recognize businesses who also show up for the community.
To all the survivors—we celebrate you. To everyone still fighting—we stand with you. And to the families who have lost someone—you’re in our hearts.
Thank you to everyone who made this event happen and to those who continue to show up for this cause. This is what love, friendship, and community look like.
With love,
